Sometimes lecturers are great in making us laugh and stay energetic during class. Especially when Chinese lecturers try to talks in Bahasa with their own way of a mandarin's tongue. Most of them are using high level of Bahasa but when they talks, they really sounds hilarious. Sometimes as students, we are trying hard to cover up our laugh from their hearing, but sometimes we just blew it. We are sorry.
- Jalan-jalan = Jalang-jalang (update from phyzee)
I remember one of my Chinese Lecturer has said, an infant that is starting to show the development of verbal skill usually sounds like this: pepepepepek!, mememememek! After he said the words "pepek and memek", the whole class suddenly has turned into the silence, but seconds after that we have blasted off with a great laugh. The Chinese lecturer some how remains as cool as ice because the words such pepek, and memek are nothing weird to him. The words might be just okay for Chinese people, but for the Malays, the words are kind of obscene already. That's why we laughed. Lol.
Although they might sound hilarious, I respect them because they are brave to talk in Bahasa even they know that they have poor pronunciation. They tried their best to give us the better understanding in the learning, and we supposed not to laugh about it, but learn to appreciate. Eh, ok can laugh la, but make sure not to loud ok ? ;)
HAHA I had teachers like that too. Funny!!
ReplyDeleteya.. perkasakan bahasa kita sendiri. Siapa lagi kalau bukan kita ^_^
ReplyDeleteseronok tengok cerita Jepun / Korea / . Mereka gunakan bahasa mereka sebagai media penyampai, dan kita walaupun masih tak faham, tetap mahu untuk terus mengikuti drama, filem atau lagu mereka.
